Data Elements Requested by Faculty Senate

FACULTY SENATE PROGRAM REVIEW REPORTS

    • The Executive Summary
    • A description of how the department and its program(s) contribute to Truman’s liberal arts and sciences mission, and
    • A short document (approximately 2-4 pages) containing a list of 5-10 points of information the department thinks it would be useful for Faculty Senate to have as Senate undertakes subsequent discussions about the university curriculum.  Examples of types of such points of information include, but are not limited to, the following:
      • Accomplishments / “points of pride” achieved by the department, its program(s), and its faculty, students, staff, and alumni during the review period
      • Challenges or impediments to future excellence the department and its program(s) face
      • Ways in which the work of the department and its program(s) aligns with the university strategic plan
      • Suggestions for places where policy guidance from Faculty Senate would be welcome
      • In general, suggestions for ways in which Faculty Senate can better support the department and its program(s) in their pursuit of excellence
